New Team in Full Gear! Beans, Boda Bodas, Interviews and Alot of Love

Team riding the local Boda Boda Transnportation into the village. The new team is here and in full gear. They are already doing a great job of serving and having a great time as you can see from the photo on the left. We made a decision to do whatever we could to serve and help the local village and that includes using and paying for the local transportation, the Boda Bodas. It actually has helped already in the attitudes of the people towards us. As they see us reaching out to them, they smile and begin to appreciate our presence in their village even more.

Some of the team also found a way to serve by sorting through mounds of red beans, removing the husks and stones that are included in the large sacks. They did this for a long time and really helped the kitchen staff. They are doing a great job of finding ways to serve the people of Uganda already!

Douglas DanWhile we are certainly having a great time already, the reality still exists that we are serving and need to serve a people with many, many needs. We spent a lot of time today once again interviewing some of the kids that are attending the school we are providing, but not living in the homes. Their stories are heart breaking. Thanks so much to those of you who have linked with us to help these kids. We are so blessed by your responses. Many children’s lives are being changed by your kindness and generosity. The kids are thrilled that their prayers are being answered. One kid we interviewed today is called Douglas Dan. Oh my, you have to read his story on the Sponsor a child page. When you find him on our Website with the other kids who have

Foot of Douglas filled with jiggers.

been listed, you will see that he has had a very rough life. I have included a photo of him and his feet which are filled with "jiggers", insects that embed themselves into the kids feet and under their toes. He is now available for sponsorship. As soon as he is sponsored, we will be bringing him into the home to be cared for.

We have now ordered another 12 beds, mattresses, blankets and mosquito nets to accommodate more kids in the home. We are moving our storage room and converting it into a new bed room. If you want to sponsor Douglas or look at other kids needing sponsorship, you can click here to be directed to the kids who are listed.
