Show Mercy Videos and Christmas Outreach Pictures

New Youtube Videos Online Now

We are very excited to let you know that we are posting new videos on our Youtube page: www.youtube.com/ShowMercyIntl.  Once you go to Youtube, you can create an account and subscribe to our page there.  You will then receive emails when we add new videos.  We will be adding stories from the teachers, Pastor Prossy as well as people that have attended previous trips.

Some of you may be wondering why you don’t see Mike in more of our videos. Well, we shot most of the video footage on our last trip to Uganda back in September 2007.  He stayed back in Oregon to take care of our kids as well as the office!  You will be seeing him on the videos very soon.

While in Uganda, our videographer asked me the question, "Why do you do this?".  You can watch what he captured on tape below:

We encourage you to pass these videos on to friends and family.  We are believing 2008 is going to be a year of tremendous opportunities to reach out in LOVE!  We all have a dream inside of us.  My personal dream is to rescue as many children as I can from abuse, neglect, starvation, prostitution, abandonment and on and on.  I can not stand injustice!  My heart beats with passion when I see children that are starving for food or for love!  Something on the inside stands up and says, I CAN AND WILL DO SOMETHING!  Does your heart beat like this?  Together, we have made a huge impact in the village of Gganda, Uganda.  But we have only just begun.  There are many more opportunities to bring hope, love and faith.  We are excited, because as we put our dreams and passions together, we will see some HUGE results. Join with us and help get the word out there.  This is our year.  Will you join with us as we continue to REACH OUT IN LOVE…one child at a time?

Christmas Outreach Pictures

First, I must apologize!  We didn’t not do a very good job of communicating to you all about our Christmas party at Hope nor the opportunity to give toward our Christmas Widow’s Outreach for the Village of Gganda.  We have purposed to communicate better in 2008!  (If think you might be able to help in this area, Email us .  Right now, we have some office volunteers and as we continue to grow, we are finding that we are needing more and more help.  If your passion is to write and create pictures with words, then join with us and help us to get the word out there about the great opportunities that are right before us.)

As I mentioned in our last post, the children at Hope had the opportunity to experience the joy of giving to others for Christmas.  Prossy (our friend and the Overseer of Hope Children’s Home) emailed to tell us how the women in the village were crying as they received gift baskets of simple items like rice, flour, and salt.  They also received some meat!  They knew that someone cared for them too! Thanks again for being a part of that!

Here are a few photos that they emailed to us.  The quality isn’t the best, but if you look close, you can see the huge smiles on our children’s faces, as they are giving the baskets!  It makes my heart leap with joy!

Thanks again for your heart to love the widows and orphans of this world.  It is so true that to the world, you may be one person.  But to one person, you may be the world!

More posts coming soon.

A Christmas to Remember in Uganda

 The Miracle of Love

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  We want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who donated towards the Christmas at Hope Children’s Home.  The children all received new clothes and an awesome dinner!  Everyone one of the children was treated to their very own soft drink.  Here in the States, that is not very special, but for the kids at Hope, it is normally only something they dream of.  You made that little dream come true!  To a child, that is HUGE!  So thanks again for your heart to love these kids from a distance.

Here is a note from Ruth. She is 18 years old and currently lives at Hope Children’s Home.  She is a gem to say the least!  She not only goes to school all day away from the village, but when she comes home, she helps around the house!  She has a heart of love and is so willing to give it to anyone who needs it!

To sponsor Ruth, so that she can continue her education, click here.  We have many more children that need sponsors too.

Hullo mum and dad, this is Ruth who wishes to ever talk to you but it seems impossible due to lack of computers both at home and around the village,  but the truth remains that Ruth loves you with all her heart as a daughter really misses her mum and dad’s presence. My brothers and sisters are all doing well.  I’ve been with Victoria and she’s like, “I love them too" and the fact is that we miss you a lot .I can’t forget thanking you for sacrificing your time and thinking of us.  You make sure that we eat every day till a week, a month and a year ends and not only that, you make sure that we have the most happiest moment on a day like this Christmas as usual. Everyone is happy and rejoicing for what you did through buying us clothes for this festive season. It was in our prayers that God would provide Show Mercy with money and we get clothes and shoes plus Christmas food!  We like it b’se we have received them all. May our god, our awesome caring God, abundantly fill your hearts with everlasting joy.  I wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Love you always,

Ruth

A Miracle….by Reaching Out in Love!

We were so excited to give our kids the opportunity to not only receive a special gift this past Christmas, but to also experience the true joy of giving to others!  We had the children go into their village to hand out gift baskets to the elderly and widows of the area.  Not only did they hand out baskets of assorted items (such as salt, flour, sugar), but they gave 30 different elderly and widowed women each a little meat to cook for their special day.  Your donations and prayers were turned into LOVE, right before Gganda Village’s eyes!  Here is a report from Pastor Prossy (she is one of the many Moms at Hope Children’s Home!)

We are celebrating and worshiping God for helping us pass through the Christmas season. Oh how joyful! We thank you exceedingly for caring for the children and they are also happy. The whole village is in so much joy in that they now know that God cares for them too. What I discovered, lets start up projects to help the widows and the helpless old. For some talked while shedding tears for the things God has done for them. The children are so good and they are playing. We are praying for you and nothing is going to hinder your works. Our God is with you amidst the various difficulties. How is the Show Mercy team? Tell them we are so much blessed. Now that we have finished the Christmas season, we are going to move a head. We love you lots.

Your friend

Prossy

June 2008 Short Term Mercy Missions

We will be leading a team to Uganda Africa in June of 2008.  The mission will be to continue the work of demonstrating love that has already begun in Uganda. For those of you that have traveled with us in the past, we will be doing many similar types of activities. There will be opportunities to show love to the many orphans that we are currently caring for as well as possible opportunities to help even more. We will also be traveling to hospitals to pray for the sick as we have on every other trip. We have seen numerous miracles and healings happen while showing love to the sick people of Uganda over the past years. Don’t just take our word for it; come and see for yourselves.

To read more about our short term trips and to watch a video from a past trip in 2006, please visit our website by clicking here. Due to logistical reasons, there is a possibility that we will need to limit the size of the team. In order to assure your place for this trip, please do not delay in submitting your completed application, waiver of liability form and $300 deposit by February 15, 2008.

We appreciate every one of you!  Thank you for making 2007 one of the best years ever!  We look forward to seeing what 2008 holds for us all!
