Team Arrives Safely in Uganda
We all made it safely to Uganda! Our first day out at Hope Children’s Home was absolutely wonderful. We were welcomed by the Hope children singing and dancing! They all look fantastic and were so excited to have the team around for the day.
I had a wonderful talk with Peter the Painter today. He shared with me how overwhelmed he was by the generous meal that was served on Christmas day. He was so moved that people gave the money needed for their huge Christmas feast. He described the day and said the children were so excited and jumping up and down with excitement just because they were going to have a rather unusually large meal. He also kept thanking us for all that Show Mercy has done and how he shares the testimony of SMI to all his friends at school. He just kept saying over and over that because of our obedience, he is now loved and is able to have his gifts and talents cultivated. He promised that we wouldn’t be disappointed! He was also excited to share that he has been elected class president. He said the reason he believes he was elected is because the other students can see a confidence and boldness in him. The love that has been shown to him by SMI and the mommas of Hope Home is what he attributes his confidence to. He knows that he is valued and loved!
We will write more later as well as upload some pictures for you to see all the fun and excitement from our trip! Thank you for all your prayers and support. I am happy to announce to you that the children at Hope are all doing very well! There were many smiling faces today.
