A couple of days ago, we were having a meeting where different team members were talking about their first day at Hope Children’s Home in Uganda. One of our team told us through tears of something she saw while eating lunch.

As she was eating, she accidently spilled a small amount of rice on the floor. She then noticed a child from outide the building run in and scoop up the rice and eat it. Her heart was broken. We explained to her that it was probably a child who was attending our our school but had not been sponsored yet. When a child is sponsored, they not only are allowed to attend school but they are also provided with a meal during lunch time. For many, this is their only decent meal a day.

She looked at us and said,  “If I had know that, I would have dropped more rice.”

There are still many children that are in need of sponsorship.  They are attending our school but until they are sponsored, unfortunately, we cannot provide a meal for them. We are very aware that for most of us, it is a matter of “out of sight, out of mind.” However, there are children suffering every day that are praying for a sponsor like you to help them receive even the most basic of needs, food.
