Juliana came asking God for a miracle.
Earlier this year, Juliana had been diagnosed with swelling on her ovaries.
She was scared.
Her mom heard about our medical outreach and encouraged her to come. She told her, “Maybe you will be healed when you come.”
So Juliana came.
But she was so afraid that on the second day, she left.
Then she came back.
Before having another scan, Juliana went to our prayer tent. She was still having pain when she bent over, but she asked our team to pray with her and asked God for a miracle.
Then she went for her scan.
There was no trace of the swelling.
Juliana couldn’t believe it!
She actually went looking for one of our team members who had seen her the previous days.
When she found them, she was shouting with joy. 😂❤️
Our team said she was so happy she couldn’t contain it.
And I don’t blame her!
She came scared.
She left shouting.
That’s a pretty good day. ❤️
Elizabeth didn’t come for medicine.
During our medical outreach, Elizabeth showed up for a completely different reason.
She needed someone to talk to. She needed someone with a listening ear.
Elizabeth shared with our team that she had reached the point where she was planning to buy poison and take her own life and the life of her child.
Life had just been so hard, and she didn’t see another way out.
When I heard that story, I kept thinking…
What if we hadn’t gone out?
What if she hadn’t heard about the outreach?
What if our team hadn’t spent those days going house to house and through the villages telling people we were coming?
We told them there would be free medical care. Dental care. Medicine.
But we were also telling them we were coming expecting God to show up.
And thankfully, Elizabeth heard about it.
She didn’t need one of our doctors that day.
She needed the Great Physician. And He showed up.
Our team sat with her. They listened. They prayed over her and spoke life over her.
Something lifted off of her.
She left different than she came.
One of the pastors we’re working with is continuing to follow up with her.
There’s a sign outside our Show Mercy Health Center that says:
SHOW MERCY HEALTH CENTER
Because Jesus Cares.
I don’t think those words have ever meant more to me than they did that day.
Because He showed up for Elizabeth. ❤️
He began to see.
A middle-aged man came into our prayer tent with his wife guiding him.
He was blind.
He had been to doctors before and had been told that he had completely lost his sight.
But that day, our team prayed for him.
And something happened.
He told them he could see out of his left eye.
His vision wasn’t completely clear. He could see images, but they were still blurry.
Then our team watched him walk past the chairs by himself…something he hadn’t been able to do when he came in.
It makes me think about the ten lepers in Luke 17.
Jesus told them to go show themselves to the priests.
And the Bible says, “as they went, they were cleansed.”
Their healing happened as they went.
I don’t know what happened with this man’s eyesight after he walked away from our team that day.
But I know what happened while he was there.
He came in being led by his wife because he couldn’t see.
And after they prayed, he walked away seeing.
Maybe not perfectly yet.
But he could see.
Praise God!!!
