MEDICAL CARE AND FOOD SAVE MARK'S LIFE

Our team showed up at Florence and Mark’s house to deliver food and the tears began to flow from Florence’s face when she found out the reason for our visit.

She was overwhelmed and knew that God had sent us to visit her. At first we thought it was because she was struggling to find anything to eat, but then we realized her precious son has been battling a serious case of malaria. Florence has been unable to afford the medicine needed, so she has been trying local herbs, but they have not been working.

Thankfully, our clinic was still stocked with medicines to help treat malaria and we were able to help Mark. You will notice in the picture, both Mark and his mom were brought to tears. Florences and Mark lost their husband/father 2 years ago which has also made it very challenging.

14 YEAR OLD STRANDED ALONE

Fourteen year old Enoch is one of our heroes. He’s lost both of his parents and lives with his older brother. He makes bricks to survive. He had prayed that day that God would help him. He’s been so down and discouraged.

THANKFULLY, Show Mercy got to be the answer to his prayer. When we delivered his food package, he was smiling ear to ear. Today, you made him know he is SEEN and HEARD by God. He is NOT ALONE. You gave him FOOD and HOPE.

PREGNANT AND WITHOUT FOOD

Can you imagine being 4 months pregnant and without food? This is the story of this precious lady, Eviyani with her toddler, Brenda. We rejoiced as we gave them their food basket, knowing this mom, her unborn baby and her toddler would receive much needed nourishment. She also learned about our new birthing center and is excited to begin visiting as soon as the lockdown is lifted.

SHE SAID YES!

We are celebrating because this precious woman gave her life to JESUS! Hajati has been a practicing muslim, but when we showed up at her door, shared the GOOD NEWS of Jesus along with some food, she was overwhelmed with awe and wonder. She was so amazed by this gesture of love and could not believe that SMI was reaching out to muslim families. Today we saw that LOVE NEVER FAILS!

TEACHERS HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A JOB

The schools have been closed FOREVER in Uganda so it seems. Unfortunately, the teachers have not received a salary since the closures and there aren’t any unemployment benefits available in Uganda. They’ve been struggling to get by and care for their families. Joyce Mary, mother of 5, says THANK YOU. She is one of the many teachers you helped with food. She teaches at a local village school where some of our sponsored children attend.
